Abdulhakim Belhadj, head of the Tripoli Military Council and the former leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, "met with Free Syrian Army leaders in Istanbul and on the border with Turkey," said a military official working with Mr Belhadj. "Mustafa Abdul Jalil (the interim Libyan president) sent him there."

The "covert operation" was immediately laid bare when a rival Libyan rebel brigade detained Belhaj at Tripoli airport, accused him of travelling on a fake passport, and declared they would jail the senior military leader.

Only a letter from the country's interim president was enough to persuade them to let him leave the country.

In Police State news...

On December 31st, Obama signs the NDAA 2012, thereby declaring every U.S. citizen to be a potential enemy of the state, with the determination of such status to be entirely at the discretion of the executive branch. This signing opens what we greatly fear will be a chain of events culminating in civil war, the outcome of which we are less than optimistic will be favorable to the rule of law in the good ol' USA. As we joked in last month's headline summary, Obama should immediately have himself indefinitely detained, in so far as his war against Qadaffi has provided Al Qaeda with a new safe haven in Libya. But the reality is that any who shirk not of the opinion that Obama himself is an enemy of the state are at risk of being detained or even killed at his discretion. Since it is merely your word against his, calling one another traitors, without recourse to the forum of a court system to adjudicate such disputes, the one with the force of coercion, the predator drones, will then prevail. Rule of law is no more; now might makes right. This goes for everyone with a low opinion of the "Viceroy". True, the language of the NDAA limits such executive action to supporters of Al Qaeda and affiliated groups. But, all it will take to expand these provisions to domestic opposition is another staged terror attack like the Oklahoma City Bombing. Following such an event, we can expect to see, for instance, Mike Vanderbough and his "Merry Band of Three Percenters" to be added to an executive hit list...

Putin suggests SEMEN join FEMEN

Wayne Madsen reported last weekend that, according to his sources, much of the funding for the recent "White Revolution" protests in Russia is coming from the Soros foundations network with the assistance of US-UK intelligence services in order to destabilize the country...

WMR: CIA/Soros funneling money through Georgia to Russian protesters

The western media is mocking Russian Prime Minister for suggesting during a television interview that when he saw protesters in Moscow wearing white ribbons, he thought they were wearing condoms. Putin said, "I decided it was propaganda against AIDS, that these were, pardon me, dangling contraceptives . . . I didn't really get it . . . But on the whole, my first thought was that this is good, that people are fighting for a healthy lifestyle." Putin said he could not understand why people unrolled a condom (gandon) before pinning it to their chest.

In fact, Putin, a KGB veteran, was signalling to the West's disruption network in Russia and neighboring countries that he is aware of how the protesters are receiving their funding from the West, including Soros, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) -- the main cipher for CIA funds -- and MI-6...

Some of the money earmarked for HIV/AIDS prevention in Georgia by USAID is being diverted to Russian dissident groups, according to our eastern European intelligence source...

+

Putin, it is true, does have at times a subtle way of sending messages to the West that otherwise cannot be said too bluntly; for instance, in the wake of the Beslan school massacre in 2004, he implied to a group of Western reporters that the US and UK governments were responsible for the massacre through their support for Chechen terrorists...

DachaDude(Webster Tarpley): PUTIN AND PRESS ON BESLAN

So Madsen could well be right that Putin was sending a message concerning geo-political matters. But there is also room for double-entendre here. If we follow the carnal logic of Putin's statement, in saying he mistook the white ribbons for condoms, he was of course implying that they were spent condoms, filled with semen. Now we would imagine that Putin could not help but notice another group participating in the protests...

HuffPo: FEMEN, Ukrainian Women's Rights Group, Protests Russian Elections (TOPLESS PHOTOS)

And so, in saying, "my first thought was that this is good, that people are fighting for a healthy lifestyle," he was only suggesting that the males and females should enjoy a healthy lifestyle together.

December 16: Day of Insurrection. It was on this day four years ago, in commemorating the Boston Tea party of 1773, that the Ron Paul presidential campaign broke its own record for money raised in a single day, previously set (for the Republican primary) on Guy Fawks Day, November the 5th. With these two "money bombs," Ron Paul's supporters anticipated what would become the symbols for the right and left sides of the new American insurgency. The tea bag &/or the three cornered hat for the TEA Party and the Guy Fawkes mask for the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Of course, these movements would be vulnerable to hijacking by certain interested establishment parties who would seek to redirect these insurrections into something more manageable, or even profitable. As the TEA Party was "astro-turfed" by the Koch brothers, on the right side of the duopolist system, George Soros on the left would similarly attempt to capture the OWS movement.

A notable difference between the two, however, is in the timing and the results of these redirections. The TEA party, having its origins with Ron Paul supporters, was genuinely grass roots at its inception, only to be later hijacked by certain factions of the Republican establishment and effectively controlled, as much of the performance of the freshman TEA party Republicans in Congress has demonstrated - they have (with some exceptions) essentially become the new vehicle for neo-conservative concerns on foreign policy matters, jettisoning Ron Paul's anti-war stance in favor of a strong military, bolstered by the Islamophobia that characterized the Bush years. The OWS movement on the other hand was apparently seeded by Soros foundation money at its inception - at least in so far as Adbusters might be considered a Soros front organization, though the extent of this is disputed.

In any case, there was some money to be made by the very wealthy interests that the movement decried...

DailyMail: How Guy Fawkes, the man who tried to murder a king and a government became a symbol of anti-capitalist protesters across the globe

It is estimated that 100,000 masks were sold last year.

The terrible irony is that the mask is a paid-for product, owned by a major corporation.

Time Warner owns the rights to the masks and with every mask sold more money is deposited into that corporation's bank account.

The movement is working its way around that with replica masks.
According to CNN, replicas are now being mass produced in Asia

London protester Joshua Whitfield, 19, told CNN that instead of buying an officially licensed mask at a store in the city, he bought one considerably cheaper from an Anonymous member.

He said: 'Some people wear it to make a fashion statement, others because they know what it's about...'

A Romp with Newt?

Heard on right-wing radio the other day...

Michael Savage to the women of America: would you sleep with the Pillsbury Dough Boy?
Of course not, and this is why Newt Gingrich can't beat Obama: women voters won't elect a president they wouldn't want to have starring in their sexual fantasies.

Well, given his comments on past indiscretions...

"There's no question at times in my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and that things happened in my life were not appropriate"

Instead of calling out another woman's name while in the throws of passion, a lady might hear Newt scream:

Oh baby... America... take it yeahh you know you love it Americaaaaah....
