Glenn Greenwald's piece is something of a "limited hang-out" since, while noting that White House sources seek to justify Awlaki's death penalty by way of his unproven association with the "underwear bomber" Abdulmutallab, he fails to mention the very questionable circumstances surrounding that case (i.e. the official who insured that Abdulmutallab boarded the flight) and that of Awlaki himself (in spite of his connections to several of the 9/11 hijackers, he in 2002 had been allowed entry into the U.S. after being briefly detained by the FBI for an arrest warrant, and he enjoyed the privilege of having dinner at the Pentagon as a "moderate muslim"). All of these circumstances would put Awlaki into the orbit of what Edmonds charts out as Gladio Plan B, and would suggest the true motive for his assassination as based on the necessity of eliminating a witness who might have potentially demolished the entire house of cards in the 9/11 cover-up, were he to get his due process.
